Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Gilpin

Hello! My name is Kelly Gilpin and I am the 5th and 6th grade teacher here at Mansfield! I have been teaching here since the spring of 2004 when I took a long-term sub position in the 4th and 5th grades.  I have been here ever since!

I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham and my Professional Certificate from Central Washington University.    My hobbies include horse back riding, swimming, music, and generally spending time outdoors with my family (husband and 2 kids). We also raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, pheasants,  and keep rabbits, horses and even a pea-hen on our mini-farm.  I keep trying to get a good garden to grow, but darn it, keeping plants alive is not my best subject! I have left most of the gardening to my kids (who do a much better job than me)!       I'm so glad to be teaching here and I can't think of a more rewarding job to have than helping kids learn and grow!  Mansfield is a pretty special place!
